The dynamics without Financial Reporting Manual

The objectives of financial reporting are, among others, to inform management of the (consolidated) performance in a certain period. Management compares the performance with the budget, prior periods, between operating companies and verifies results and positions to take decisions. Information systems within a company facilitate these processes of accounting and reporting.

However, what many companies lack are guidelines, procedures, definitions and instructions for its employees that provide insight in when and how transactions and positions have to be recorded and eventually reporting has to take place. Company specific guidelines provide consistency, ensures compliance and continuity to ensure the reliability of information within an efficient financial reporting process.

All financial reporting is based on certain policies, whether it is IFRS, Dutch GAAP or an internal management reporting standard. These policies are applied to transactions and positions on general ledger accounts, cost centres, reporting lines, movement schedules and internal management reporting and external reporting. The digital accounting manual of Fidugius, the Financial Reporting Manual ensures accurate application at all times.
